Gate Valves
Our line of Exotica GXT™ gate valves come in several configurations: standard, bellow seal, pressure seal, parallel slide, knife gate and sluice gate. Gate valves are the most common type of valve, together with ball valves (90º turn) and globe valves (multi-turn). They offer a simple design suitable for positive shut-off, and their metal-metal seats allow for reliable operation at high temperatures and high pressures.
Bellow Seal Gate Valves
Bellow seal gate valves are used in operations where leakage in chemical processing is required to be limited zero, often to Fugitive Emission standards like ISO 15848 or TA Luft. A bellow is welded onto the stem and bonnet which prevents leakage. This completely seals off the interior of the valve.
Parallel slide, knife gate and sluice gate valves
Parallel-slide, knife-gate and sluice-gate valves are used for high Cv, low-pressure applications, mostly when solids are involved. Flanged versions of these valves rarely exceed Class 150.
Pressure Seal Gate Valves
Pressure seal gate valves are used in high-pressure applications. The unique design of the body-bonnet interface in pressure seal gate valves allows these two part to press against the gasket between the two as pressure rises. This is opposed to bolted bonnet gate valves where increasing pressure tends to separate the body and bonnet from the body-bonnet gasket, which in turn can lead to leakage.
